TROWBRIDGE based independent financial adviser Brian Hill has been voted number one in Wiltshire by his clients.

Mr Hill, 44, of Hilperton, also appeared in the top 200 Rated Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) in the UK and his achievement was announced in The Times.

He was selected after local clients reviewed and rated his services on consumer ratings website VouchedFor.co.uk. The site enables people looking for financial advice to find a recommended IFA. You can search for an adviser free of charge based on location and services provided.

Mr Hill, who has worked at Jones Hill in Trowbridge for nearly eight years, said: “There are over 20,000 independent financial advisers in the UK so I’m thrilled to have been voted number one in Wiltshire. What makes it even more special is that I’ve been selected thanks to my clients. It means a lot that they’ve gone out of their way to support me and I’d like to thank them all.”

Mr Hill moved to Trow-bridge in 2006 after marrying his independent financial advisor wife Lisa, who has worked at Jones Hill since 1995. He joined the company as a mortgage advisor before he became an independent financial advisor five years ago.

He said: “While talking about how to look after your money isn’t ‘sexy’, with the recent negative press about pension charges and underachieving pension funds, I am offering a free ‘pension health check’ to anyone who wants to establish whether their pension could be working harder.

“Financial advice is all about reducing unnecessary charges or poorly performing funds to make sure you make the most out of money and aren’t left short of funds in retirement or on a rainy day.”
