Under-21 judo champion Jemima Duxberry and other inspirational role models will be encouraging young people to think of their futures at a special careers fair next week.

Enterprise Day, organised by Wiltshire Council’s Skills 4 Success programme will be held at the Civic Centre in Trowbridge on Tuesday, April 29.

Secondary schools and college students will be attending in the morning and from 1-4pm the doors will be open to all 16 to 24-year-olds.

More than 25 businesses will be exhibiting including Hitachi, DC Leisure, Seimens, Premier Inn and the Army.

The National Apprenticeship bus will also be outside offering advice and answering queries.

Budding DJs and music producers can take part in a radio masterclass with Mark Lodge, aka ‘King P’, from KikRadio & Touchtone Records, and throughout the day there will be workshops on CV writing and having successful interviews.

The New High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Peter Addington, will open the event and Team GB Champ Jemima Duxberry, from Devizes, will also help kick off proceedings with a demonstration with her coach Jason Parsons.

She will stay at the event through the day to answer questions on her future plans and experiences so far.

Jemima came back from a six-month lay-off with a bang, winning gold at the European Junior Cup in Greece earlier this month.
