Wiltlshire Air Ambulance is building on the success of its lottery by offering players the chance to win up to £25,000.

The new Superdraw lottery, launched on Monday, gives members of the charity’s regular weekly lottery the added opportunity of winning up to this amount for an extra £1 a week.

The charity’s regular lottery, which is operated by The Air Ambulance Lottery Society, offers a weekly top prize of £1,000.

Players for both the Lottery and Superdraw must be 16 years of age or over.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s head of events and charity services, Claire Kelly, said: “Our regular lottery has some 23,400 members who between them raise more than £578,000 a year for the charity.

"We are extremely grateful to these thousands of people whose ongoing support is helping to secure the long-term future of our life-saving service.

“As we don’t receive any government or national lottery funding, we are totally reliant on the generosity and support of local people to keep us flying.

"The money raised from our lotteries provides regular, steady income which we can rely on, enabling us to plan ahead and ensure that we can continue to keep saving as many lives as possible across the county.

“By introducing Superdraw we hope that even more people will join our lotteries and help to keep us operational.

“Winning £25,000 really could change someone’s life – it could pay for a holiday of a lifetime, help you move home or buy a dream car.

By joining our Lottery and Superdraw people have the chance of winning a substantial amount of money while supporting their local air ambulance at the same time.”

Wiltshire Air Ambulance will have its own helicopter from December this year as its partnership with the police ends. As a result it will have to increase its fundraising to £2.5million a year.
