MARK Collier reckons his Chippenham Town side didn’t deserve to come away from Arlesey Town with nothing on Tuesday evening.

The Bluebirds were undone by a goal from the hosts’ Stuart Farrell with just two minutes on the clock, with the hosts holding on to keep out Collier’s men and inflict their eleventh away defeat of the season.

“A culmination of errors gave them the chance to get a goal early on and for the next 20 or 25 minutes, we rode our luck and had to hold on to stop them getting another,” said Collier.

“But in the second half, it was all one-way traffic. We created four or five good opportunities to score and had a good penalty shout turned down as well.

“Lee Phillips was challenged by their keeper (Aiden Grant) in the box and he was convinced it was penalty.

“It looked like it was from the dugout but when I spoke to the referee, he said that he thought the goalie played the ball first, which we had to accept.

“We played a good passing game on a very good surface and caused them a lot of problems.

“There are a lot of positives for us to take out of it but all that was missing was the goal.

“We definitely didn’t get our just reward and their manager Rufus Brevett said to me afterwards that he thought they were very lucky to come away from the win.”

The only goal of the game came as Ben John rushed off his line to tackle striker Hallelujah Basmel but the loose ball fell to Farrell, who looped home a shot from range.
