WITH Talbot FC unable to use their pitch at Priestley Grove, Calne they travelled along with opponents FC Buscots to Stanley Park for their fixture against the Division Two champions.

Mark Camacho’s side had the perfect build-up to Sunday’s showdown with local rivals Potterne CFC as they came out on top in a goal fest which they won 10-5.

Buscots were 4-0 up inside eight minutes, Adam Bewley with two and first goals of the season for Nick Oram and Luke Hunnyball doing the damage.

Nathan West pulled a goal back for Talbot before a Phil Little's double gave Buscots a 6-1 which was reduced thanks to a second from West.

A third of the half for Little along with a second from Oram put Buscots 8-2 in front at the break.

The second half saw Adam Bewley bagged a further two goals to take his tally to four and Buscots to 10.

Goals in the final 15 minutes from Dale Wood, Aaron Clegg and Simon Vowden brought a bit more respectability to the score line for the Talbot.

Potterne CFC 2 Fortune Inn FC 0

A 2-0 VICTORY for Potterne CFC against Fortune Inn has given the villagers a chance of finishing as runners-up to their fierce rivals FC Buscots, who they play at the weekend and must beat and hope for other results go their way if they are to do deny Miller Sports A second spot.

Neil Clark's goal separated the teams at half time and Pete Huntley’s second half effort sealed them a third straight victory, however a late upturn in form has probably come too late to earn the cricketers’ any silverware this term.
