• Beat death toll

  BOWEL cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK. Each year around 35,000 people are diagnosed with the disease and, according to the latest figures from the Office of National Statistics, about 3,600 of these patients are being assessed and treated in the south west. read more

• Super service!

  THE gale on Thursday brought down several trees over our local footpath, as it did nationwide. On Friday morning I telephoned Wiltshire County Council byways department to advise them that the footpath was blocked. read more

• Kill speed now

  WEST Ashton Road does, indeed, need more safety measures, following the serious accident to a pedestrian near Green Lane. read more

• Trust no-one

  THE recent declaration on savage cuts by Wiltshire Primary Care Trust officer Nicholas Gilliard has shown it is just a continuation of North Wiltshire & Kennet and West Wiltshire PCT. read more

• Not FGW’s fault

  CLLR Malcolm Rosier's letter (Wiltshire Times, Jan 19) may have been accurate in its identification of the some of the problems with the railway service in Wiltshire, however it entirely misallocates the blame for these issues. read more

• New incentive

  COUNCILS are probably going to charge us all for rubbish collection by weight. read more

• Town Hall row

  WITH reference to Cllr Blakemore's letter (Wiltshire Times Jan 19), I don't know what meeting he is referring to as every Town Hall meeting I have attended, and that is seven or eight, plus the town poll, have all had a very large majority against the Town Hall project. read more

  I HAVE no wish to cross swords with either Basil Green or Jeff Osborn, two gentlemen for whom I have the highest regard, but I must take issue with them over their letter in the Wiltshire Times. read more

  I READ the recent articles on police enforcement of parking restrictions in Bradford, but would like the police to look at Rowden Lane. read more
