  I FULLY understand the problems that were generated for the council and their recyclers by the placing of inappropriate items (eg large cardboard pieces) in the green compost bins and that changes were essential. read more

• Bid for quiet

  I AGREED with everything Maria Smith said in her article on noise in the workplace (Wiltshire Times, March 16). Until, that is, I came to her suggestion that to help counter noise pollution music or ambient sounds' should be played. read more

• Cost of cancer

  HAVE you been affected by cancer and had trouble getting travel insurance? Perhaps you have been quoted a very high premium? Or maybe you were refused travel insurance outright? read more

• Bypass tragedy

  WESTBURY Town Council's deliberations and vote on the proposed Eastern Bypass was a complete farce when five councillors were to all effect prohibited from voting because it was perceived they had a personal or prejudicial interest. read more

• No respect

  AFTER reading the disturbing account of how paramedic Barry Slade was ignored at best and abused at worst after his recent traffic accident I felt I should write to you. read more

• Second sight?

  I AM wondering, is there still a Vision for Trowbridge, with the closure of our hospital to come and the ambulance station soon to follow the same fate? read more

• Super service

  ON Friday evening my washing machine broke down. I had a pile of dirty laundry including the children's school uniforms. Therefore, on Saturday I had to go to the laundrette in Westbury, a grim task I thought. read more

• The other side

  IN response to your article Riders frighten blind pensioner, (March 9), I am one of the many people who ride along the mentioned footpath and I was appalled when reading the article as the contents are so untrue. read more

• Please listen

  AS A member of the Gasworks Action Group, I would like to take up the point that Cllr Viles raised (Listening to the Ombudsman) regarding the buildings now going up in Frome Road on the former Colour Development site. Like the gasworks, this project is yet another example of democracy not working. read more

• Still no answer

  AT a meeting of the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee in December 2006 Nicholas Gillard, spokesman for Kennet and North Wiltshire, stated the Pathways for Change would be costed. read more
