Bikers on charity fundraiser
A GROUP of motorcyclists left Warminster on an Easter trail in aid of charity.
More than 20 bikers joined the fundraising event on Sunday morning organised by the Warminster-based Old Geezers Motorcycle Association.
Each rider paid a donation to take part before more than £300 was distributed between Wiltshire Air Ambulance headquarters in Devizes and Wild Things Res-Q site in Salisbury.
Charlie Forward, the association's chairman, said: "It went very well considering the weather. It was a cold ride and wet at the beginning but it was good.
"We managed to stop for a cup of tea in Avebury to warm up."
The group left at 11am and were back in Warminster at about 5pm.
Among the 23 motorcycles were two trikes carrying five people between them.
Mr Forward said: "A few brought their children with them. I think the charities were well pleased."
Collection boxes were put out around the town before the charity ride and every motorcyclist paid a donation as part of the fundraising.
Richard Edwards, who is also a member of the association, said: "We just want to say a big thank you to everyone who turned up, despite the weather, and a thank you to everyone who donated cash."
