WILTSHIRE born and bred, David Nutley, 59, is the chairman of the Studley Green Tenants and Residents Association (TARA).
He has been involved with the association for 18 months, and stepped up to take over the role of chairman in May.
An altruist by nature, he has volunteered for the Red Cross, been a local scout leader and is currently a youth worker on the estate. Also a full-time carer, he has been married to Nicola for 30 years and is father to Simon, 24, and Rebecca, 23. He has one granddaughter, Alisha, four.
How would your best friend describe you?
Happy-go-lucky and outgoing. He'd say I'm a person who likes to volunteer and who is always willing to help people.
Where would you recommend for a great evening out in Wiltshire?
I do like the Hollies restaurant or pub in Westbury Leigh. They're always very welcoming there and you get good home-cooked food.
What do you do for fun?
I like to sit down and relax a bit. I enjoy watching television, especially the American CSI programmes. I also watch the Trowbridge football team on occasion as I have some family who are involved there.
What motto or saying do you try to live your life by?
Be honest and helpful, and always be prepared to get involved with things.
Who in the public eye do you most respect?
Locally I'd say John Alford, who was (TARA) chairman before me, he has been very helpful and I have a tremendous amount of respect for him. In terms of famous people, it's Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. I've been a supporter since I was five. I went up there last year for an arena tour, and he was there. He came up to us and asked our names, and later when we saw him again he remembered everybody. He never forgets, and he's a really down to earth guy.
What is your biggest regret?
Not marrying my wife earlier than I did, and I'm not just saying that because she's in the house!
What is your favourite television programme or film?
The Great Escape.
What makes you sad?
Not being able to complete something I started. I like to see things through, to see an end product.
Describe your perfect day.
With my wife. We would go out and relax together. She loves to walk through Heaven's Gate at Longleat when the rhododendrons are out. We could then go for a meal. I also really enjoy spending time with my granddaughter Alisha.
