The 60-year-old who enjoys watching the programme and taking part at home so she decided to apply and was chosen to film an episode in August which was aired on recently.

The part-time civil servant passed through all of the rounds and insults that namesake Anne Robinson could throw at her to take home the winner’s £2,070 pot.

Mrs Robinson, of Bradley Road, Trowbridge, said: “I always said I would not go on the show because of the nature of picking on people’s differences but I gave in in the end.

“I wanted to see if I could do it. I managed to get through the whole game with only one error, it was a lot of luck and a couple of good guesses that got me through the game.”

On Anne Robinson, the grandmotherof- four said that she ‘very much played up to the part of the queen of mean’ but wasn’t as mean as she has been in previous episodes. She made her demonstrate her martial arts skills as this is something she practises in her spare time.

Mrs Robinson is a member of the weekly Martial Arts Leisure UK ladies class at St Augustine’s School, Trowbridge, The mum-of-two, who is going to take her family on holiday to France or Italy with her winnings, has also appeared on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire a couple of years ago but got a question wrong and went home with £1,000.

She added: “I met a lovely group of people and I would recommend it to anyone to apply to take part.”
