Halagoogoo
Halagoogoo are a funk rock trio that formed in Bristol at university, and band members now live in London, Exeter and Chippenham.
With a penchant for glamming up they put the fun back into funk with their toe-tapping bass lines, head-nodding beats, hooky/funky guitar riffs and infectious vocals.
The vocals have been compared to the dirty, rough-edged efforts of The Strokes, The Vines and The White Stripes and their stage energy has secured them performances at many south west festivals this year.
They describe themselves as "Much like Charlie Dimmock's cleavage because we are facing in the right direction, fun, both guys and girls look at us and we are well supported."
The NME were equally enthusiastic about the band: "Leotard-clad trio Halagoogoo artfully blend moving basslines and complex drumming with Zeppelin-esque guitars to create a new breed of funk rock. With leopard-skin jumpsuits and wetsuits, the band are destined to headline big venues."
