Folk at the Oak
The Royal Oak in Corsham hosts a regular Thursday Folk at the Oak night, run by Sandy and Graham Bell.
Blues, country, world music, jug band music, skiffle, pop/rock and many other styles are frequently heard alongside folk, which of course includes Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English and American tunes and songs.
As well as appearances by established singer/songwriters, there are a range of events for newcomers.
Singers' Nights are all "floor spots" for singers and musicians - poets and jugglers have also been welcomed.
Spotlight Nights are slightly more formal - still open to all, but the stage and lights provide a focus for two or three song sets.
Feature Nights and Best of the West Nights give a showcase to local talent, while Guest Nights feature some of the best nationally and internationally known artists.
