Gig Guide
Good Dog
Good Dog are four young men from Wiltshire who want to take their rock music to the people.
Their catchy sound is infused with punk, funk, reggae and hardcoreinfluences and their live show is as energetic and tight as any professional band. The group consists of singer/songwriter/bassist Ben Cartwright, singer/guitarists Joe Yon and James Penny, and drummer Jack Tuckwell, all 19. Formed in 2003, the band started out playing school battle-of-the-bands and smaller gigs around their home towns. Perhaps their most notable victory was winning the nationwide schools BOTB at Cornbury Music Festival 2005.Since then, Good Dog have expanded their audience by playing in pubs and festivals, which has served as a good apprenticeship and honed their performance skills. Good Dog has just completed the production of their third album of original material - recorded and mastered entirely by the band itself. The underlying theme of the album is freedom from all sorts of things relationships, school, prejudice and inhibitions, a theme summed up by the name, Blue Sky Dreams.
The completion of the album marks the start of what the band hope to be their future of gigging, recording and promoting themselves wherever they can.
