John Etheridge and Kit Holmes, Thursday, September 14, 8pm, Arc Theatre, Trowbridge.

One of the most famous UK jazz/blues guitarists, John Etheridge will be performing at the Arc Theatre, Trowbridge on September 14.

The guitarist, who has worked with the likes of Nigel Kennedy, John Williams, Andy Summers and Soft Machine, presents an exciting evening of jazz, blues, folk, African grooves and much more, and is ably supported by special guest Kit Holmes.

Singer/songwriter Holmes fuses a broad range of influences from pop to folk, blues and soul.

Her debut album, Seeing You, which features legendary double bass player Danny Thompson, has won critical acclaim and earlier this year was asked to give a masterclass at Paul McCartney's LIPA.

A pre-concert guitar workshop with Etheridge and Holmes will be held from 6.15pm-7pm on September 14, featuring warm-up exercises, tab and music, and expert advice on how to develop your technique, musicianship and performance skills.

All abilities welcome, from age 10 and upwards.

Students for the workshop will need to bring along an acoustic guitar.
