Kelly Watson and the Morriston Orpheus, Saturday August 26, 7pm, Dauntsey's School, West Lavington
Swansea's internationally-acclaimed male voice choir, the Morriston Orpheus, will be performing at Dauntsey's School, West Lavington, on Saturday August 26.
One hundred men sing in this choir and they deliver a very powerful and yet refined performance. Their repertoire is not only classic with God save the Queen or Il Trovatore, it is also surprisingly modern with standards like Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.
Kelly Watson, 19, from Devizes, will be making her debut as guest soloist of this impressive choir.
Kelly's chance of a life time was given by St Joseph's Nursery in Devizes. Every year, the Morriston Orpheus Choir performs a limited number of concerts for charities and all proceeds from their performance with Kelly Watson will be in aid of St Joseph's Nursery.
They celebrate two important anniversaries : the Choir's 71st birthday and the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Welsh National Anthem.
Doors open at 6.15pm. Tickets from Devizes book shop at £18, (01380) 725944.
