APOLOGIES to one of the young acts featured in the George Ward Rockfest recently - a technical error meant we left out all mention of rock band Overdose, who are frontman Chris Waylen, 13-year-old guitarists Jack Boddington and James King and drummer Jake Welford, who performed with guest bassist Tariq and pianist Rob.
Opening with the Dylan classic Knockin' On Heaven's Door, they followed this up with a stomping original Double Deal, which sounded like Guns'n'Roses doing a cover of The Stones' Brown Sugar. Great stuff!
Bidding forms for the Blind Auction for rock memorabilia held on the night are still available from the Melksham school, as well as The Fox, Broughton Gifford, and The Old Bear, Staverton, until mid-May.
ANYONE who knows The Beehive Pub in Bradford on Avon, on Trowbridge Road, by the canal, may already think it is the perfect pub.
Now there is a new attraction, a session on the third Monday every month. Musicians and singers know this means a relaxed, informal, friendly get-together when performers can show off, listen, jam, learn from each other, swap tips, tunes and songs and generally have a good time.
All genres of music are welcome, from blues, jazz, folk, bluegrass - anything as long as it's acoustic please. Unlike some sessions when the instrumentalists take over, at The Beehive singers are welcome whether with groups, soloists, accompanied or a capella.

CALLING bands, solo artists, magicians, comedians and entertainers - GWR Radio are holding one of their fundraising events for GWR KIDS and need your help.
GWR KIDS raises funds to support disadvantaged children and young people in Swindon and Wiltshire.
The event will be held at the 12Bar on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 25, and is planned as a top night of entertainment.

THE Divine Comedy have been anounced as the final headliners for this year's Wychwood Festival, being held at Cheltenham racecourse from May 30-June 1.
They join The Proclaimers (right) and Karen David on the main stage.
Recently added to Sunday's Independent Stage billing is The Young Republic, a group of eight musicians who blend Phil Spector-style sparkle, power pop and jaunty country and, on the Saturday, is the marvellously monikered Marcus Bonfanti & The Badboys and Oxford's very own eccentrics Stornoway, who describe themselves as "a living, breathing Mark Twain novel".
Tickets are £100 for an adult weekend pass and £75 for concessions (12-18, unwaged, disabled, NUS).
