Mod Party Night, Bradford on Avon
9:52am Friday 22nd October 2010 in Gig Guide
West Wilts band Carnaby Street have found themselves with a whole new set of fans recently, as the latest Mod revival has brought the music of the 60s and 70s to a whole new generation.
The band, who specialise in playing a great mixture of music by artists like the Small Faces, The Who, The Kinks and The Jam, have built up a solid following of first generation fans since they first hit the stage in 2005, but the current Mod revival and a clutch of appearances at festivals this summer have spread their name to an even wider audience.
They have also added Madness and the Sex Pistols to their repertoire, as well as classic punk and ska numbers, giving them a set which offers something to appeal to all.
The Mount Pleasant Social Club in Bradford has been booking the band for a Mod Party Night every autumn for the last few years, and they’ve always gone down a storm. Although it’s one of the busiest and most popular venues on the local music scene, it is not large and it is a ticketed evening, you would be wise to get yours now rather than pay on the door.
Tickets for the 9pm gig, run by local promoters Mark Green and Andy Benger, are available at £5 from the club or by calling 01225 867888.
