N-Dubz star Dappy had to be rushed to hospital after getting kicked in the face by a horse.

The No Regrets rapper took a tumble while riding in the grounds of his home, and his mount accidentally "stamped on his face" before galloping off.

The Daily Mirror reported that the star was left covered in blood.

A source said: "Dappy was cantering around when the horse reared up suddenly. He was left sprawled on the ground, and to make matters even worse, the horse then stamped on his face. There was blood everywhere."

The 26-year-old's spokesman said the star is now recovering after his fall.

He said: "I can confirm that my client was involved in a horse riding accident at home where he fell from his horse and was subsequently kicked in the face. Dappy was rushed to hospital where he received medical treatment and is now recovering."

Dappy - who formed N-Dubz along with Tulisa Contostavlos and Richard 'Fazer' Rawson - showed his accident wouldn't get in the way of his work by tweeting fans to tell them he was looking forward to seeing them at his planned performance in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

"@DC________: God comes to newcastle tomorrow! Aka @TheDappy Christmas has come just over a month early!" See u tomorrow," he wrote.
