Amal Clooney has been pitted against Emma Watson and Cara Delevingne for a British Style Award.

The new wife of Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney is up for this year's gong after winning plaudits for her eye-catching outfits, including her wedding dress designed by the late Oscar de la Renta.

Men on the list include Benedict Cumberbatch, Tinie Tempah, Ralph Fiennes, Kate Moss's hubby Jamie Hince, Idris Elba, David Beckham and David Gandy.

Actress Keira Knightley is also nominated, along with singers Rita Ora and Kate Bush.

Along with Cara, models Jourdan Dunn and Kate Moss are in the running.

The award is given to an individual "who most embodies the spirit of British fashion and is an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital".

Dame Helen Mirren is also nominated alongside Mercury nominee and Robert Pattinson's girlfriend FKA Twigs.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who was on the list last year, is surprisingly absent in 2014.

The winner, voted for by the public on the British Fashion Awards website, will be announced on December 1 at a ceremony in London.
