STAGE ’65 Youth Theatre, which has groups at Salisbury Playhouse with a satellite section in Trowbridge, has places in both groups available for youngsters for the new term, which begins in September.

Members attend weekly workshops in which they learn performance skills, make new friends and work towards public performances. Current members are involved in the Playhouse’s current production of Oh What a Lovely War, which opens on Monday, and presented a curtainraiser to the production of Wind in the Willows in Trowbridge on Friday night.

There is something for everyone, from those who would like a career working onstage or behind the scenes, to those who just enjoy making and watching great theatre. Workshops cost £64 per term, are for ages four-25, with reduced fees are available for those who require financial assistance.

Dave Orme, Youth Theatre Director, says “Stage ’65 is an excellent opportunity for those looking to meet and work with people their age to create dynamic and exciting theatre. There are many ways to get involved.”

The Playhouse is also looking for 14-21-year-olds to join its new Young Ambassadors scheme. A group of ten will meet monthly to work on a range of projects, including attending VIP nights, running a blog detailing activities and events, reviewing and promoting the theatre, sharing information and opportunities with young people in the local area.
