Singer Victoria Bolley, who performed in London’s West End as part of the cast of Alchemy, will be coming to Devizes to kick off the musical’s national tour.

Mrs Bolley, 29, who is originally from Devizes, will be playing a lead role in the Victorian adventure as part of the self-funded Caamora Theatre Company, who finance the shows through sponsorship and fundraising.

It is written and composed by musician Clive Nolan, who Mrs Bolley met in 2011 when she was the understudy for the female lead of Ayesha in Mr Nolan’s musical SHE.

In August Alchemy had a week’s run at the Jermyn Street Theatre in London along with performances in Poland, Holland and Cheltenham. The show travels to Germany for a performance on Saturday.

Its first UK national tour will begin with the show in Devizes. Mrs Bolley, of Bowerhill, Melksham said: “London was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

“It was hard work, but a dream come true for me.

“I am so proud that the show is going to be performed in my home town, especially as a lot of people from Devizes have been such a great support to the show, and myself as a solo singer.”

Mrs Bolley, who has been singing professionally for 15 years, has performed at the club on many occasions and she said they have been a great support allowing her to arrange fundraisers to support the show.

She said: “Without the support of the club and many fans of the show, London would not have been possible. As a thank-you for their continued support and enthusiasm, I am singing there for free in February.”

Mrs Bolley lives with her husband Nick and daughter Summer and said her family are very supportive and take every opportunity to see her on stage.
