NEW Year in Vienna 2015 returns to Bath Forum on New Year’s Day, with dancing, music and entertainment from the London Gala Orchestra to start the year in style.

Organiser Wilf Goddard said: “We must thank the very loyal supporters who have been coming every year.

“The work for these concerts starts in February. From then on apart from a summer break New Year is ever present as we perform our regular concerts.

“Thinking of a theme and listening to countless pieces on the internet in order to discover some new interesting and enjoyable music can take weeks. Getting hold of the music that we don’t have can mean contacting friends in Vienna.

We try to make our shows different, which is why we have candles, pyrotechnics, a champagne lottery and of course a bagpiper for Auld Lang Syne.

“This year we are celebrating the waltz in all its different forms, performing waltzes from the West End, the ballet, popular dance as well as the well loved Viennese Waltzes.

You will hear the London Gala Orchestra play Waltz Dream, Waltz of the Flowers, Skaters Waltz, Edelweiss, Vienna City of Dreams and of course the famous Emperor and Blue Danube Waltzes plus many more galops and polkas, experiencing New Year as the Viennese have been doing for centuries full of romance and glamour.

“Helen Massey will be our soprano with tenor Andrew Wicks who will also be our MC. The whole show is directed by Steve Ellery, who spends most of his time in Poland and Germany where there is a long tradition of New Year concerts."

Tickets for the 3pm show are £14-£29, with a 4 for 3 offer on the £29 ticket, from 07989 889791.
