Leading chamber orchestra The Welsh Sinfonia will perform for the first time at the Wiltshire Music Centre on Saturday.
The orchestra will be joined by Wells Cathedral School pupil Julius Scholtz, who will play Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto, accompanied by the 30-strong orchestra, conducted by Mark Eager.
The Welsh orchestra has had links with the school for some years, and the concert programme also features the English première of a piece, Seagull Nebula, by Wells Cathedral School old boy Michael Csanyi-Wills, who has been orchestra composer in residence for two years.
Mr Eager said the musicians were looking forward to their first appearance in Bradford on Avon.
“This concert is part of a national tour and we’re really pleased to be coming to a new venue (for us),” he said.
Tickets for the event, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £24, £21 and £5. Call the music centre box office on 01225 860100
