THE Tithe Barn in Bradford on Avon will be under the literary eye of theatre-enthusiasts next month when the Bradfordians present their annual summer performance, Hamlet.

The 14th century barn will form as the backdrop of the Tudor-based drama having previously featured in the BBC costume series Wolf Hall.

The atmospheric setting provides a perfect location for the performance which follows the story of Prince Hamlet, who is tortured by the restless ghost of his murdered father.

The plot then follows his quest to confirm the wrongdoing of his uncle with vows to prove himself a worthy son.

Director of the play, Simon Blacksell said rehearsals have been underway for the past two months to prepare performers for the murderous and revengeful plot.

He added: “Hamlet is a very challenging play and I feel blessed in being able to bring together a strong ensemble cast for this production from among the society’s talented members.”

Actor Marc Bessant will be taking on the demanding lead role.

Tickets are now on sale from Wiltshire Music Centre for performances from June 24-27.

Prices start from £10 for concessions. For more information, call 01225 860100.
