This weekend Bath Spring Flower Show
Bath's annual Spring Flower Show in Royal Victoria Park will take place over the Bank Holiday weekend, from tomorrow to Monday, and this year is celebrating its 21st anniversary.
Bath's Natural Theatre Company will be leading the celebrations in their own inimitable style.
The Naturals' appearances at Bath Spring Flower Show have been sponsored by The Framing Workshop, and they will be at the Showground amusing visitors throughout the day on Saturday and on Sunday morning.
The world-renowned performers at the Natural Theatre Company are being rather cagey about exactly how they will make their mark on the show, but it's a fair bet that the classic and serene Flowerpots will want to check out the competition. The Flowersniffers, in their be-flowered suits and always seeking to fill their magnificently large noses with heavenly floral aromas, will surely be right at home, too. Perhaps a Natural Gnome or two might be on site to teach the skills of their trade - how to stand still for a long time?
It's widely rumoured that some Big Hatted Ladies have already been spotted dressing their chapeaux for the event - so much classier than Chelsea, darling'.
And the organisers have taken care to order in some bamboo for the Naturals' Cycling Panda, who's been known to stick his tongue out at unsuspecting members of the public if he gets hungry!
Show-goers of all ages will enjoy the unusual but very accessible comic-visual performances of this much-loved local company.
The flower show features the main floral marquee, offering advice and plants for sale; competitions galore for all ages; cookery demonstrations from the Taste of Bath team; the English Garden Roadshow; food and drink; stalls covering everything from bee-keeping to bonsai, as well as day-long entertainment from the bandstand.
Tickets £7 each (£5 concs), accompanied children under 16 free. Free on-site parking.
