Monday, May 28 until Saturday, June 2, Theatre Royal Bath.
Alan Ayckbourn's Bedroom Farce tours to Bath with a star-studded cast of theatre and television favourites including Colin Baker (Doctor Who, The Brothers), Louise Jameson (Tenko, EastEnders), Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler in EastEnders), James Midgley (Shane Ince in Cutting It), Beth Cordingly (The Bill, Family Affairs) and Timothy Watson (The Woman in Black), directed by Robin Herford.
This ingenious play about relationships and the perils of DIY visits the Theatre Royal for one week only.
Set in three different bedrooms throughout the course of one chaotic evening, Ayckbourn's hilarious play is a masterclass in comic writing. Delia and Ernest's attempt to celebrate their anniversary is a disaster and ends up with pilchards in bed and a midnight visit from their daughter-in-law Susannah.
In another bedroom Jan is leaving husband Nick, bedridden with a slipped disc, to go alone to Malcolm and Kate's housewarming - where upstairs in their bedroom she runs into old flame Trevor - in the middle of a very public fight with his wife, Susannah.
This much-loved comedy offers glimpses into the private lives of three couples as the action switches from one room to the other and the plot unfolds during one action packed night.
Sir Alan Ayckbourn is one of the world's most successful playwrights and is internationally acclaimed as both a playwright and as a director. Many of his plays have appeared at the Theatre Royal Bath including If I Were You in February.
