Cycling is essential

In response to Bruce Bronson’s letter last week, I would respond that for some cyclists their bike is their only means of transport, unlike the luxury of Mr Bronson’s car.

For me, cycling is my means of exercise and yes I am lycra-clad and the helmet he refers to has saved my life.

They are not stupid, they are essential when we cyclists are faced with someone with Mr Bronson’s attitude.

I would invite Mr Bronson to share a cycle ride with me, I am sure he would realise what good transport and exercise it is.

This year alone, I have raised £2,500 for charities by my cycling, what has Mr Bronson done?

I will continue to ride in the winter weather, in my hi-vis gear so that Mr Bronson can see me.
