The new spring/summer season at the Arc Theatre in Trowbridge offers a packed programme of live performance as well as a many opportunities to take part in the creation of theatre, dance and film.

There are weekly groups for all ages from five to adult, and one-off workshops in dance including, Capoeira, originally a 16th century form of self-defence, salsa and African dance, all for ages 16 to adult.

Children from the age of three can take part in a clowning workshop followed by a live performance, and musicians can get tips from two outstanding guitarists, John Etheridge and Kit Holmes, during a workshop which precedes their live performance.

Theatre manager Adrian Lesurf said: "I am very proud of the diversity of the events we have been able to bring to west Wiltshire.

"There are a number of really exciting things happening at The Arc during the spring and summer including the film Jaws that will be screened at Trowbridge swimming pool; Potted Potter, all of the Harry Potter books in 70 minutes and Disney Channel's Dave Benson Phillips in Get Up And Go, a show for young children which incorporates Makaton Signing."

Trowbridge Village Pump have continued to book some of the best touring folk and roots musicians for the Arc's audience, including Martin Simpson who has recently been given two awards in the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk awards, and locals. Pretty Good Girl Dance Theatre Company are returning with their new piece of dance which is ideal for teenagers and their families, called Dyin' 2 B Drunk, which looks at the perils of excessive drinking.
