Wednesday, May 21 until Saturday, June 7, Various venues.

The 60th Bath International Music Festival will start as Sir Colin Davis raises his baton to conduct the London Symphony Orchestra in Bath for the first time.

One of the world's greatest living composers, and a former Director of Bath Music Festival, his own career has spanned 60 years. This performance of Schubert's much-loved Symphony No. 5 and Bruckner's majestic Symphony No. 7 promises to be a milestone in the history of Bath International Music Festival. Tickets for this concert are priced at £35, £25, £12, £8.

Following their much-praised production of King Arthur at last year's Festival, Armonico Consort are returning in 08 with Mozart's racy, witty and sparkling opera The Marriage of Figaro.

The young Australian baritone Simon Thorpe (fresh from acclaimed roles with Opera North) will head the cast, and Kit Hesketh Harvey's new translation of Da Ponte's quickfire libretto promises an evening of delicious fun and bittersweet romance, perfect for all ages. Tickets £18 and £15.

On Saturday, May 31, the Great Voices of Bulgaria will fill Bath Abbey with the mesmerising sound of traditional Bulgarian folklore and Russian Orthodox Church music. Bearing candles and processing in their long red national costumes, this stunning 24- voice choir will perform Orthodox chants with a pure and truthful clarity, alongside raw and earthy folk music sung from generation to generation. Tickets £25, £20, £15, £12 and £8.

Tickets for these three events only are available now from Bath Festivals Box Office, 2 Church Street, Abbey Green, Bath, BA1 1NL. Tel: (01225) 463362 Fax: (01225) 310377 or email boxoffice@bathfestivals.org.uk.
