On behalf of the Service family I want to thank the people of Trowbridge and the surrounding villages for their outstanding generosity to the Poppy Appeal 2016.
To date we have paid in over £38,000 and there is still more to come; you should feel very proud of yourselves and be assured you have the gratitude of the families of the fallen, those recovering from their injuries and in need of long-term care and those who you are helping back to their working and family lives.
I also want to thank our wonderful volunteers who made this Poppy Appeal possible; the ex-Service associations, all three of our super cadet organisations, the church groups, civic societies – along with the teams in Lloyds Bank and Forrester Sylvester & Mackett who offer us such friendly support.
Lastly and perhaps most importantly, thank you to those volunteers who have no Service affiliation whatever, and there are many, who spend long hours at the collection points chatting to our supporters – and accepting their donations.
Updates on the appeal total will be posted from time to time on our Facebook page at Trowbridge Royal British Legion.
