ON behalf of the Lions Club of Bradford on Avon (www.boalions.org.uk), we hereby extend our heartfelt thanks to the people of Bradford on Avon and surrounding villages again for their tremendous support for our Christmas Appeal during December.
Through the two to three weeks leading up to Christmas your generosity enabled us to collect £3,846.68, a new record again, and this has enabled us to purchase about 80 Christmas food parcels and potted plants to deliver to some of the less fortunate members of the community we serve. The remaining money will be used to support other charitable causes locally, nationally and internationally.
We could not have achieved this superb result without the help and support of a number of other organisations and individuals to whom we are indebted, namely:
l Cumberwell Park Golf Club for the storage and garaging of Father Christmas’s float;
l Our superb drivers Simon Giles, Ron Plum and Ken Price;
l Many of our Friends of Bradford on Avon Lions;
l Club members’ family and friends;
l Several young members of Bradford on Avon Air Training Corps;
l Everybody who came to join us at our Carols Round the Tree event on Christmas Eve;
l And, of course, Father Christmas himself.
Thank you all once more, and our very best wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year.
