THE Salvation Army in Trowbridge would like to say a huge thank-you to all those who gave so generously to our Christmas Toy Appeal. We were overwhelmed by both the quality and quantity of toys donated. Each year the number of children for whom we are asked to provide gifts for increases, but so too was the level of support from kind hearted members of the community.
We are also grateful to Tesco Extra in Trowbridge and The Shires Shopping Centre for acting as reception points for the toys. Our thanks also go to the Wiltshire Times for providing publicity for the appeal and acting as a further reception point for donations.
We are only able to distribute what we receive, but the generosity of response to the appeal enabled us to provide toys for more than 100 children who, without this support, would have awoken to little or nothing on Christmas Day. Together, we have been able to bring a little happiness into Christmas for some struggling families.
