TROWBRIDGE Link would like to thank everyone who voted for us during November/December of last year in the green token community scheme run by Asda in Trowbridge.
The cheque that we received from the store will help towards the cost of providing our services to the local community.
For those who are not familiar with our work, Trowbridge Link is a volunteer organisation which offers assistance to those who are housebound, elderly or infirm to help them to retain an independent lifestyle for as long as possible.
By providing transport to medical appointments, doing shopping from a list or assisting those who are frail or who have mobility issues to get around the supermarket, or taking them to visit friends or family in nursing homes and hospitals, Trowbridge Link provides a valuable service to residents of the town and its surrounding villages.
We do not charge for the help that we give, but rely on client donations to help towards the mileage allowance that our drivers are paid.
Asda’s cheque will give our finances a welcome boost and we appreciate their generosity in nominating us to be one of their green token charities.
If any Wiltshire Times readers have a few spare hours each week and would like to help in our work, we are always looking for new volunteers.
To learn more about us and to perhaps become a member of our happy team why not pick up the phone, dial 07969 347042 and either speak to one of our co-ordinators or leave a message on the answering machine?
