IT is a great pity that stores in Trowbridge, particularly the new M&S, bear no responsibility for the parking chaos around their store. My advice to shoppers would be to shop where there are no charges, or at least where the charges are clearly stated.
I am sure that if the likes of M&S saw the car parks empty, they might start taking an interest.
Also, do we really need Parking Eye to monitor shopping and hospital car parks? Is there any evidence that these car parks are being used for anything other than what they were intended?
We are urged to keep our personal details private, yet when we enter a Parking Eye controlled car park our names and addresses are available to them, using ANPR, along with the obvious fact that we are not at home.
Parking Eye has no legal authority and we have no way of knowing what happens to the information that they collect.
