A MOTOR group in Trowbridge is preparing to move to new premises as a planning application is submitted to turn its present site into housing.
Islington Motor Group will transfer from Bradford Road to a £2.65m motor park in Canal Road on April 21. An official opening will be held in May.
West Wiltshire District Council has received a planning application in connection with the Suzuki and Citroen dealership's Bradford Road site.
The application is to demolish the showroom and build 14 three-bedroom townhouses and six two-bedroom flats, along with car parking spaces and landscaping.
Ashford Homes, which is part of Islington's partner group Doric Developments, of Bowerhill, will take charge of the development if it is approved.
Islington managing director Paul Jones said he was pleased a final moving date had been set. "We are slowly starting to move over. It has been a busy March for us. We are very happy with the new building and very excited about opening. We can't wait to be in there."
The site in Canal Road was purchased from beds firm Airsprung.

This undoubtably ties in with the nasty news for the Innox Road residents about the green space behind and to the side of them that the Cabot Trust are apparently behind the paving over. The one that has the newts and protected bats apparently. Any updates please?

Enquiring minds and all that wonder if the recently "retired" Brian Fitchett has any connections with the Cabot Trust? Allegedly.

Now we've got all these houses but nowhere to work = roads full of commuters (who buy cars I suppose) - great stuff.....
