Trowbridge Town claim under 12s crown
 |
| Action from the Under 12s League Cup final between Trowbridge Town Youth and Devizes Town Youth (34591/18) |
TROWBRIDGE Town Youth dominated possession throughout the Under 12s League
Cup final against Devizes Town Youth.
Trowbridge took the lead midway through the first half with a terrific shot
from Tom Maynard and their lead was doubled when Elliot Hughes was brought
down in the box by the Devizes goalkeeper and Ashley Rendall converted the
penalty.
Devizes pulled a goal back just before half-time through Bradley Hill due to
Town not being able to clear the danger.
Trowbridge created numerous chances in the second half but these were not
converted and they were made to pay when a through ball split their defence
and Hill broke free and scored with a well taken shot to level the scores.
This then spurred Trowbridge on to play their best football of the game and
it was soon 3-2, with Oliver Nash scoring from a cross before Ashley Rendall
converted a free kick from outside of the penalty box to make it 4-2.
Trowbridge peppered the Devizes goal and were unlucky not to add further
goals to their tally. Trowbridge were impressive for the majority of the
game, with Ashley Rendall and George Hall in outstanding form.
Match officials Philip Boore, Duncan Allsopp and Jonathan Trueman, who for
the second time over the weekend stepped into the breach, all had superb
games.
Trowbridge received the Ron Boucher Cup and Bradley Hill, of Devizes Town,
was named man-of-the-match.
