Tayler is players’ choice at The Crown
 |
| Matt Tayler |
HAVING finished their Second Division campaign with a 10-2 home defeat of
The Horse and Groom, The Crown Devizes continued the celebrating into the
evening as they handed out their end-of-season awards.
The players' player of the season award went to Matt Tayler, who is a young
defender, who is calm on the ball, always gives 100 per cent and has a great
attitude to the game.
Mark Roberts presented the manager's player of the season award to
goalkeeper Steve Warner, who was new to the club this year and who missed
only one game all season.
Darren Thorpe picked up the top goalscorer award for the third successive
season.
Thorpe, whose appearances this term have been limited due to work and family
commitments, scored just eight goals in 10 matches to win the award and it
was a hat-trick against The Horse and Groom on the final day of the season
that saw him beat Paul Revening to the award.
