Appeal for witnesses after car damage

A MAN is appealing for help in finding the motorist who crashed into his new car while it was parked in Bradford on Avon on Sunday causing £800 of damage.

Matt Graham, 36, of Stockwood in Bristol, was visiting his girlfriend Victoria Paradise, 35, of Magnon Road in Bradford, over the weekend.

The couple went to have breakfast in The Fat Fowl between 9.30-10.30am and he parked his Volkswagen Passat, which he had only bought 16 days ago, in Market Street near the pedestrian crossing.

But when he got back he found glass and bits of bodywork on the road and discovered that someone had crashed into the side of his car and made off without leaving a note.

Mr Graham said: "It was a hit and run, an arrestable offence. The car that hit mine was metallic green and probably an older car going by the type of glass on the road.

"I have a repair bill in excess of £800, the prospective of taking leave from work to arrange the repairs, a string of expensive 0845 phone calls to arrange the repairs.

"All because someone out there is incapable of driving down a dry road on a Sunday morning without hitting another other car and then not having the decency to be honest."

Anyone with any information should contact Bradford on Avon police on 0845 4087000.
