TV naturalist to attend summer fair

TV naturalist Chris Packham will be guest of honour at a Trowbridge school's
annual summer fair tomorrow.
Packham, who co-presented BBC1's
The Really Wild Show, will be joined by
parliamentary candidate The Black Farmer, Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, BBC Radio
Wiltshire presenter Sue Davies and Trowbridge mayor Cllr John Knight, at The
Mead Primary School's flagship event, which runs from 2pm to 5.30pm.
The special guests will be helping to judge competitions where children will
be showing off everything from fairy cakes to tray gardens.
All this year's attractions have a link to sustainable living, including a
life-size flat, which will include information on how to help save the
planet, giant junk instruments and green woodcraft.
Wiltshire College will be displaying its bio-fuel car along with a range of
animals.
Packham will be giving two short talks about encouraging wildlife to your
garden.
Other attractions include pony rides, Sulis Samba, dance displays, fair
rides and a pirate circus entertainer.
The Friends of the School are hoping to raise money towards a giant
Adventure Island for the school playground and need to raise another £10,000
towards a £19,400 target.

Oooo Chris Packham, I used to **** after him when I was younger - perhaps I'll pop along to the school and see if he fancies a look at an old bird.

Are we still brainwashing kids to believe they can 'save the planet?' What a conceited lot we are!!! Our tiny contribution to emissions is so insignificant that it would be more use to take a cup of water from the sea to help prevent floods.
