Police find cannabis factory

POLICE in Chippenham raided a cannabis factory in the town on Friday morning.

A number of officers raided the house in Heathfield at 11.30am.

The raid came after a tip off and officers acted quickly to secure a warrant and search the premises.

Police are searching for the occupants of the house who were not in when the raid took place.

Chief Inspector for North Wiltshire, Gavin Williams, said: "This is the first of it's kind in Chippenham - it has happened a few times in Swindon but never here.

"We are now urging anyone to come forward with information about the occupants of the house.

"All information will be treated in the strictest confidence."

Anyone with information should contact Chippenham CID on 0845 408 7000, or anonymously, on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Why did you not raid it when they were in?

A small bit of detective work would have known if they were in or out.

Maybe you just do not want to catch them.

A police raid on the off chance they are in, what nonsense.

Well at least you have the ganja for the office parties now.

What do you mean by detective work, Necker?
Dress a couple of cops up as Jehovah's Witnesses and then go in if the door was answered and throw the (good) book at them?

Thats a good start Andrew :)

Them there Jovee's always know when your in.
Maybe they should have phoned the local J church and asked them if it was a good time to raid :)

Like I said, maybe they just wanted the hash because the evidence office stash was running out.

Hehehehe :)

The police seem to be 'damned if they do and damned if they don't' No pleasing some people! Perhaps you constantly negative and critical people who seem to know obviously alot more than everyone else aught to give up your jobs, jolly off and be a Policeman and then in your eyes a perfect and satisfactory job will be done every time!

Well done Wiltshire Police on an excellent result and preventing this Canabis from reaching the streets!

If you see this as a complete success story then I must be missing something.

Yes, glad the cannabis is no longer available but for the sake of a little surveillance this would have been more effective in its execution and outcome.

Maybe these 'missing' guys are in factory No2,3 or 4 right now a few months behind schedule?

Yes, **** their stupidity!

Yes its good they got the drugs but the dealers would have been a far better catch, watching the house would have been a good move and may have led to others
