Probe following mental health unit fire
INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into a suspected arson at Green Lane Hospital
in Devizes.
Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service crews from Devizes and Melksham were called
to the hospital at 2.20am this morning.
The service said 21 patients were safely evacuated.
Four breathing apparatus and two hosereel jets were used during the
operation, and ventilation fans were used to disperse heavy smoke from the
building.
Initial investigations suggest the fire was started deliberately, and fire
officers are working with colleagues from the police to determine the exact
cause.
