A TROWBRIDGE runner who raised more than £700 for the local branch of a nationwide charity handed over the funds this week.
Chris Kidd, 25, from Wiltshire Drive, raised the money for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association after running in the Bath Half Marathon in May.
Mr Kidd, who works at the Olive Tree Restaurant in Bath, was inspired to raise funds for the charity as a close family friend lives with the condition.
"I wanted to make it local to help local people," he said.
Hilary Fairfield collected the money on behalf of the charity on Tuesday.
She said: "Fundraising efforts like this are fantastic.
"The money will go towards supporting people with MND.
"It will be used for things like providing them with information and equipment they might need, and also providing financial grants for things like adapting their homes.
"We are always looking for volunteers."
