DEVIZES Town are still searching for their first win of the season after they drew 2-2 with Chard Town in the Toolstation League Premier Division at the Dening Sports Fields on Saturday.
The visitors went 1-0 down but Kev Bush equalised to make the scoreline all square at half-time.
Adam Giles put Devizes in front for the first time on the hour and the visitors had multiple chances to finish the game off.
Moffatt and Kevin Whitbread's men hit the bar three times, hit the post, and the Chard goalkeeper saved in a one-on-one situation.
Devizes were dealt a sucker punch on 88 minutes when Chard were awarded a controversial free kick and the ball found its way into the net after a goalmouth scramble.
Kev Bush nearly won it for Devizes at the death but the Chard goalkeeper palmed his header over the bar.
Moffatt said: "We played Calne in the week and that was a very poor performance. It was 100 per cent better down at Chard, we were very disappointed to not come away with three points.
"It was nice to see the lads were disappointed with it. The team gelling is taking a bit longer than we thought, but their attitude is fantastic. They want to put it right and we will put it right."
Of Chard's notorious sloping pitch, Devizes joint manager Shaun Moffatt said: "It doesn't look too bad when you pull into the car park. It's a funny pitch, they play it week-in, week-out so they know how to play it.
"It takes 45 minutes to adapt to going uphill and then another 45 minutes to adapt to going downhill."
