HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised for a west Wiltshire teenager with cerebral palsy as an opticians celebrates 15 years in Trowbridge.
Specsavers in The Shires shopping centre celebrated its anniversary yesterday with a day of fundraising in aid of Jonah Wright, 15, from Holt, who competes in disability athletics championships.
The money will pay for equipment and transport costs to sporting events.
Kathleen Johnson, Specsavers' first ever customer in 1993, also stopped by on Saturday for her annual eye examination to help staff celebrate.
Children were encouraged to design an official birthday card and get their faces painted, while adults took part in the raffle and lucky dip for the chance to win a prize.
Jonah's dad Trevor said: "We're always really appreciative of money raised for Jonah. We try to keep his life as active as possible and he does a lot of travelling which is very expensive.
"As Jonah starts to get heavier we will need a mobile hoist, the money raised will certainly help us with this."
Specsavers has looked after more than 53,000 customers in Trowbridge since it opened.
