Lifetime gong for optician

Barry Smith, co-founder and senior partner of optical group Haine & Smith was honoured by his peers in the UK optical profession at a prestigious dinner in London.
The Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians presented Barry, who has over 50 years experience in the optical profession, with their lifetime membership award.
A founder member and past chairman of FODO, Barry has been influential in the federation particularly when representing small and medium-sized opticians.
Mr Smith said: “It is an honour to receive this award and it really has been a joy to be involved with the committed team at FODO, which is such an important force in UK optics.”
