Song tribute paid to air rescuers
2:00pm Saturday 5th January 2013 in News
Publicans Feri and Eve Zambo, of the Beef and Barge, with members of the M-Star Band
Great Western Air Ambul-ance personnel have been serenaded and presented with a song written for them by an eight-piece showband.
The M-Star Band performed Ready To Go, at the Beef and Barge pub, Bradford on Avon, last Saturday, then presented a copy of the song for the charity to distribute.
Pete Hamblin, the band’s manager, said: “It was an action-packed night. It was about Great Western Air Ambulance; no-one else.
John Fallis, 53, plays rhythm guitar and wrote the tune in half-an-hour, while practising one evening.
Mark Baker, the lead vocalist, wrote the lyrics.
Through research and speaking to the charity, he was able to write personal lyrics and include the air ambulance service’s message and slogans.
Charity spokeswoman Keri Beckingham said: “We are extremely grateful to the M-Star Band for their support and for producing the song for us.”
