Charity puts on party for big birthday
10:00am Friday 25th January 2013 in News
A Trowbridge haven for people with learning disabilities is celebrating its 10th anniversary today.
Charity, The Ordinary Life Project Association, provides a range of housing and support for people with learning disabilities across Wiltshire.
A residential base in Barton Lodge, Trowbridge, was set up in 2003 and the charity is holding a celebration for residents and former residents to mark the milestone today at 5pm.
Trowbridge town crier Trevor Heeks will kick off proceedings at the nearby Manor Court communal lounge, with a range of activities planned.
Tenancy support team manager Ellen Little said: “This is a small get-together for everybody that has been involved here. Some of the original tenants still live here or nearby, after having successfully developed their independent living skills enough to move on to own homes in the community.”
OLPA also has residential centres in Bradford on Avon, Chippenham, Melksham, Semington and Devizes, and an outreach service. For more information about the charity visit www.olpa.org.uk.
