Young superheroes took over The Mead Primary School on Friday as part of The Big Draw programme.

Reception class children got creative with their parents to become all kinds of heroes, with Spiderman proving to be a firm favourite with the youngsters.

The Big Draw is a national event every October, and the Paxcroft Mead school decided to run a series of events throughout the year to mark the national campaign.

Teacher Helen Tate said: “It was a really successful day with a good mix of heroes. It was great to have so many parents come down and support the event at one of the two-hour sessions we had running in the morning and the afternoon.”

The school is planning to hold a community art day in May focusing on drawing.
