Road reopens after power is restored

A road in Lacock has been reopened by Wiltshire Police after a car crashed into a telegraph pole earlier today.

Officers were called to Bowden Hill at 7.55am after a red Ford Fiesta came off the road and hit the pole between Forest Lane and Sandy Lane. The driver of the car was not injured.

The accident caused some Southern Electric customers to lose power and engineers worked on site to restore power and remove the fallen cables.

If you believe that the driver insisted on hitting this pole, then successfully meeting the target suggests that due care and attention were not lacking.

I'm sure you're right. There's probably a band of ardent suicide-drivers out there ploughing their only means of transport into key targets of infrastructure in an attempt to disrupt communications and power supplies to small, picture postcard villages all over the country.
