Stitch in time to raise charity cash in Southwick

Fundraisers will be staging a day of creative nostalgia on Saturday, at Southwick Scout HQ.

The event, which starts at 10am, will raise money for Dorothy House hospice and Cancer Research.

Visitors to the Scout HQ on Frome Road can have a go at using an old manual sewing machine or 1950s hand-cranked sewing machines, to make their own bunting or lavender bags.

Even those who have never sewn before can have fun creating something unique using vintage textiles and notions.

There will be lots of other projects to try, including decorating cup cakes.

Vintage refreshments will also be available, together with stalls and a raffle to complete the trip down memory lane.

There will be a charge of £5 for adults and £3 for children, which includes the cost of materials.
